Why I Hit Myself in the Junk

So today I was driving my Jeep to Aiken. I really love my Jeep. I should have had the top down today but my top isn't in perfect working order. In fact, its kind of hard to close because the top piece is broken. It leaves a gap and every time it rains it lets the water in. Its on the list of things to fix as soon as I get a real job.

Anyways, I was driving to Aiken. Suddenly I heard a smack above my windshield and realized a bug hit the top broken piece of my Jeep and fell into the car. I didn't think much of it. Then after about five minutes this "bug" flew up and landed on my leg. It was then that I realized it wasn't a bug but a nasty looking wasp complete with white stripes.

I thought for a split second about what to do. I decided to smack the wasp off my leg. Unfortunately there's not a lot of room to maneuver your hand between the steering wheel and your leg in a car. I merely tapped the wasp off my shorts and onto the seat, upsetting him. I tried again to kill the wasp by hitting it with my had against the seat, but the cushion gave and he was still angry when I picked my hand back up. The angry wasp was a little disoriented and heading for my crotch. So I slid back in my seat, as far as I could while still at the steering wheel, made a fist and punched at the wasp. I caught a piece of the wasp, but I also caught a piece of me in the process. Ouch.

OK so June recap.

1. Palmetto Bible Camp

This year was my first year to be the Junior Program Director. It was an easier gig then my last one but mostly because of the amazing staff we have at Superweek. I did some planning and preparation but the people who volunteered to do junior activities, speak and lead singing in junior chapel, and who helped coral kids did most of the work. And I got to see Aimee some when I wasn't working. It was still a ton of work and left me exhausted but good stuff.

2. IMPACT

Matt Fields and I went to IMPACT this year to work security. IMPACT is definitely a lot more high-tech then PBC. They have air conditioned buildings everywhere. They also have amazing productions, funny paid for acts, bands in the afternoon (Including the new Paul Murphy favorite Red Shepherd), and speakers they fly in. They also pay the Security people. It was a good time hanging out with Matt and the security crew for a week and a half. Oh, and I got to see Aimee some when I wasn't working. IMPACT also left me exhausted.

3. Now

Laundry. Mowing the yard. Figuring out what to do with my house. Interview with a college in Nashville next monday July 6th.
