Stories of a Moron

O.K. I figure I would finally get the blog up and going.

So I've been teaching for two and a half weeks now. But on the brighter side the island is really neet. Everyone is pretty friendly. Getting around has become a little difficult as I am still looking for a car. But cars on the island aren't readily availible so you've got to pick and choose well. I'm looking at purchasing a repo from the bank if I can't find any better deals, which on the island there aren't any deals.

As Philip informed me a few weeks ago it seems that we've been training for this our whole lives. Volleyball is the sport of choice on the island and Philip has become somewhat of a celibrity. He was invited to play with the Nuu'uli Church's team and has been doing so. But he is the only white male on the island that plays in the Men's shield league. Furthermore he's good and keeps getting better.

Also I've been scoping out some of the cliffs on the island to climb but until I make my next gear purchase I don't think I'll try. But I can't make a gear purchase until I purchase a vehicle. But it'll come.

Teaching has been going OK and I have a good group of kids. Very energetic. Which would be great if they were rock climbing. Not so great when we're learning. I think my biggest problem with teaching is that I can't not laugh when a student makes a joke about another student. They're ussually pretty funny so its hard.

There are a lot of things I miss about home, probably most of all is thursday night X-box night. Though Kyle, Mark, David, sometimes Shuff, Josh, and I never got really good it was always fun. I've since invited myself to one of my student's house to play x-box with her brother. I figure I can help her with homework and pwn people at the same time.
